Bellator 167: “Sakara vs. Beltran” will take place at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy, on Dec. 10, 2016, the latest hybrid show to combine the Bellator MMA and Bellator Kickboxing brands since Bellator 152 in Torino. Italian-born Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Alessio Sakara (18-11, 2 NC) made his promotional debut at the show in Torino several months ago, cementing his place in the Light Heavyweight division with a second round knockout of “Professional Predator” Brian Rogers.

It should come as little surprise that Sakara would be booked for Bellator’s return to Italy; however, hard-hitting “Mexecutioner” Joey Beltran (17-13, 1 NC) will be another tough test. Beltran is batting .500 in his last six fights, and with 12 out of 17 wins by knockout, he’s earned a fearsome reputation for brawling … and never backing down. In fact, during his UFC tenure, he forced both Matt Mitrione and current Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic to the scorecards.

The kickboxing portion of the evening will be headlined by a Flyweight rematch between Denise “Miss Dynamite” Kielholtz (45-3) and Gloria Peritore (11-1-1) with the winner crowned Bellator Kickboxing’s 115-pound world champion. Indeed, a controversial split decision win for Peritore at Bellator 157 in St. Louis, Mo., left much to be resolved between the two with or without the inaugural championship on the line.

Expect additional Bellator 167, as well as Bellator: Kickboxing “Florence,” fights will be announced at a later date.
